Jason does a great job with this series of 3 books. They can all be read stand alone, but in my opinion they are better read together. He does a great job taking you down a path with twists and turns, then brings it home. i read this box set as part of an arc program. This is the complete Close Quarters series and includes the books Suddenly Daddy, Suddenly Royal and Suddenly Stranger.Suddenly Daddy- This is the story of Presley and Justin. Presley was a grad student and was going to interview for a live in nanny job when he stopped for coffee. When he heard a voice behind him quoting Moby Dick, Presley turned around and saw the most handsome man. The man talked to Presley for a minute then fled. When Presley showed up for the interview, he was shocked to see Justin was the man from the coffee shop. Presley was hired to look after Grace and learned he would be moving into a house with Justin that he shared with his best friends Graham and Noah. Justin was given custody to his cousin's daughter Grace after she died and he never knew his real family. Justin grew up in foster care and is unsure how to care for Grace. Presley tries to teach Justin how to be there for Grace, and they get closer. Justin starts to have feelings for Presley, even though he is straight. Presley is very attracted to his boss, but he knows it is a bad idea to have a crush on his straight boss. When Justin kisses Presley, he admits to wanting him and they start to see each other, but Justin has never had a relationship and Presley doesn't want to be another fling. Presley was used before and doesn't want to be treated that way again. Can they work this out? i really loved this book. I really thought it was emotional and i really felt for Justin. I think he was scared of opening up to someone and getting hurt. Presley had his own secrets and was unable to completely trust Justin. I liked them together and loved how they were with Grace. She was adorable and so lovable.Suddenly Royal- This is the second book in the Close Quarters series and is Graham's story. Graham owns a restaurant and is a workaholic. His restaurant is the most important thing to him and he hasn't dated in over a year. When his waiter quits, he knows he has to hire someone soon and puts an ad out, as well as a sign in the window. Lex sees the sign and goes in hoping to find work. Lex explains he is from a foreign country and all of his references would be in another language. Graham decides to give him a chance and it is obvious Lex is not a great waiter, but Graham keeps him, hoping he will get better. When Graham learns Lex si living in a hotel, he tells him he can stay at his house with him and Noah. Lex is in hiding, he is a prince and was expected to take the throne soon, but he ran away. Now Lex is hiding from his father's security and doesn't know how long he will be able to stay with Graham. Lex was alway straight, but he is very attracted to Graham. When they flirt with each other and Lex kisses Graham, he knows he wants to be with him. They begin seeing each other, but Graham knows Lex is keeping secrets and Lex knows he will have to flee again soon. This was like a fairy tale. I love how Lex and Graham fell in love. They both loved the other so much and wanted to be together, but Lex knew he had to leave. I think it was so emotional at times. I loved Graham, he was so sweet. I think Graham wanted everyone to be happy and loved his friends.Suddenly Stranger- Noah is the final roommate to find love. Noah is a model and his career is getting hotter and hotter. When Noah has to attend a party for Escott , Noah is a model for their outerwear, he sees Henley. Henley is the next CEO of the company, after his uncle retires. When Henley sees Noah, he wants to talk to him and hopes to get his number. Henley always thought he was straight, but he is very attracted to Noah. When Henley manages to talk to Noah, Noah doesn't understand that Henley doesn't seem to remember him. They had dated a few years before and were madly in love, until the mention of having children came up. Henley was against having kids, and Noah really wants a family. They broke up and Noah never got over Henley. Henley explained he was in a skiing accident and lost his memories. Henley asked Noah to spend time with him and to give him a chance to win him back. Henley felt a connection to Noah and Noah wanted to be with Henley, but he also knew their issues didn't change. I loved this book. I loved Noah, i think he really loved Henley, but he was so heartbroken over the thought of losing him. Noah was willing to avoid the topic of kids to be with Henley. I found it heartbreaking that Noah had to choose between Henley and kids. Henley really loved Noah, but he had his reasons for not wanting kids.This was a great way to read this great series.
