Seriously though, why? Does anyone know?! Because I most certainly don't. And I've been read daddy Kink/ ageplay books for a long time. I know this is only Izaia Winter's second book but eff me dead, if she hasn't become one of my favorite authors ever. These books have great characters, awesome flow, and are just so cute. I keep waiting for it to be cringy but it never happens. It's just good and wholesome. Or at least as good and wholesome as a daddy kink book can be. Which turns out to be a lot.But seriously this book was adorable. Red was so cute and the scenes were Nate is playing with him just warm my soul. Like the previous book, Red's regression has a natural flow to it making the story better as a whole in my opinion. You can really see his little side here. I also want to point out that Nate and Red are a very different couple from Oliver and Marshall. Which is a good thing. Often times when books are released back to back with similar plots and character dynamics, things tent to get muddy and start to blend. That doesn't happen here. Red and Nate very much stand on their own, as their own characters, in their own story. I also really like how Red is essentially teaching Nate how to be a daddy and how to navigate the world of kink. Something about that was just especially cute to me.Now for the smut. I had a lot to say about the smut in the first book so I want to make a note of it here. It's not that there were more sexy scenes in this book as opposed to the previous one, but there was a lot more attention given to them this time around. The scenes were longer and more detailed and I was super into them. This kind of leads me to believe that the way the scenes played out in the first book we're not necessarily a choice. Izaia Winter is a much stronger writer in this book and you can definitely feel her confidence coming through. We love and stan an author who growsNeedless to say, I am so excited for the rest of the characters in the series and see their stories. Especially Carson and Foster. I mean come on, if you read the books you'll see what I mean. Also I'm going to call it right now. One of the books in the series is going to have all puppy play and I am hyped for it. It won't be the next book that was teased but it's going to happen. So all that being said, 5 solid stars and a promise to read anything this woman writes. After finishing reading about Ollie, I was excited to know more about Red, and what a firecracker he was. Hating to sit still and unable to keep his little under wraps. Though it only serves to draw in Nate quicker and their dynamics is sweet, Nate the natural Daddy.As with Ollie, Red is written very natural, it doesn't stand out when he regresses, it's a beautiful flow and I'm sure even the ones new to age play would love to read about it, and understand it better.I loved seeing glimpses of Ollie again, and the two together is very adorable.I can't wait to see what comes after, the author seems to be diving in to the pit of kink and I will be following.
